MITS Stands for Murdoch IT Society. A student society based at Murdoch University in Perth, Western Australia comprised mostly of IT Students. We typically hold several events every semester for example: - LAN Parties
- Movie Nights
- Linux Installfests
- Hacker/Project Nights
- Laser Tag
- Careers Fairs
We also try to offer services to IT students such as: - Forum
- IRC Channel
- Locally-accessible file-mirror
Murdoch IT Society aims to: - Promote and encourage the interest of computing and information technologies among the Murdoch Community. We seek to achieve this goal through various social and academic aims.
- Help students develop relationships with affiliated organizations, key members of the IT industry, and other student members. Through such contacts we hope to expand out member’s resource base and help them achieve their goals for employment during their course of study at Murdoch and also after graduation. This will be primarily done through the MITS Annual Careers Fair/Seminar.
- Provide an environment within which our student members can socialize with other student members, Alumni members and Murdoch IT staff including lecturers and tutors. The society will also promote inter-varsity social activities, with support of the inter-varsity IT clubs/societies, with the interests of fostering long term relations. MITS will also aim to cross-promote with other Murdoch Clubs, and aim to co-host at least one event with another affiliated club or society.
